More surprising selections from our podcast recommendation chain

The host of one pod picks the next pod, and on and on it goes. Here’s the third instalment of our recommendation experiment.

A daisy chain of amazing podcasts.

(Pic Monkey - Elena Hudgins Lyle)

Back in 2019, a listener named James sent us an idea: why not try a recommendation chain? The host behind the first podcast recommends the second podcast in the chain. The host of the second then recommends the third, and so on. Kind of like a game of tag, or a daisy chain.

We've enjoyed this experiment so much we decided to spend a third episode building the chain. It's now 13 podcasts long, and continues to surprise us with curve ball recommendations that suddenly takes the chain into new directions. We've had contributions from the likes of Roman Mars, Nicole Byer, John Green and Alex Goldman. Their picks have covered everything from design to Harry Potter, comedy to policing. Even horticulture!

Where will it go next?

(If you want to hear where it all started, check out parts one and two.)

However, she's also received a lot of support from other followers and raised funds to support the BLM movement amidst the hate. Claire talks about experiencing racism in horticulture herself, as someone who is BIPOC."
