You'd think that somebody as important and recognizable as Justice Murray Sinclair, head of the Truth and Reconciliation Commission, wouldn't be mistaken for anyone else. He's a respected leader and advocate, was Manitoba's first Aboriginal judge, and appears all the time on television and radio. He's an important guy.
This man is NOT Justice Murray Sinclair. It's his friend - the late, great Elijah Harper. (CBC Still Photo Collection)

But back when Justice Sinclair was just starting to get a bit of a public profile, he had an awkward encounter with a man at Winnipeg's Portage Place mall. The man chased him through the mall, and eventually caught up... to ask him for an autograph!

The problem? He thought that Murray was another notable indigenous advocate - the late, great Elijah Harper. Click the story above to hear how Justice Sinclair reacted.
