Elder Alo White, from Naotkamegwanning First Nation, is a man who knows the importance of the recorded voice.

Alo and his son Nathan would often record each other singing traditional songs while driving around town or out fishing. They shared a passion for keeping Anishinaabemowin songs and stories alive.

Today, Alo has dedicated his life to recording traditional songs and stories for his Songs of My Elders project. In honour of his late son, he captures the wisdom and spirit of elders - and shares it with the world. Hear his full interview and story at the link above.
