In the age of promo codes and online forums like RedFlagDeals and Smart Canucks, you are offered the promise of deep discounts — if you're savvy enough to navigate those websites.

But are they really saving more money than they would be if they didn't embark on the hunt for red deals? And is it really worth the effort? Cost of Living producer Tracy Fuller went to an outlet mall with a Calgary bargain hunters to find out.
