The National Advisory Committee on Immunization (NACI) called mRNA vaccines, like those made by Pfizer-BioNTech and Moderna, the "preferred" shot this week.

A day later, Prime Minister Justin Trudeau sought to reassure Canadians that viral vector vaccines, including those from AstraZeneca and Johnson & Johnson, are safe and effective.
