Part One

Kavanaugh Vote
At the end of a long speech, Maine Senator Susan Collins says she'll vote to confirm Judge Brett Kavanaugh — which means, barring a last-minute surprise, he'll sit on the U.S. Supreme Court.

Airport Syrian
He was hiding in plane sight. But after seven months living in a Malaysian airport, a Syrian citizen is arrested — and our guest fears he'll be deported to Syria.

Shetland Box
The people of Shetland were fed up with having their home stuck in a box on maps, but under a new law, that's illegal — so the islands will be happily out of shape.

Part Two

Nobel Peace Prize
Sparing no detail to spare others. Two years ago, Nobel Peace Prize winner Nadia Murad told Parliament about her life as a sex slave of ISIS — and Rona Ambrose says that convinced MPs to bring hundreds of Yazidi refugees to Canada.

Laquan McDonald
Chicago police officer Jason van Dyke shot 17-year-old Laquan McDonald. And then he shot him 15 more times. And today, after years of controversy and protests, Mr. van Dyke was found guilty — the first time in decades a Chicago cop has been convicted for shooting someone while on duty.

Sword Discovery
A valiant hero yanks a thousand-year-old Nordic sword from a Swedish lake — and we'll speak with her dad about that, because she's eight, and she's busy.

Part Three

Farmer Journey
He went across the country — but he'd rather go back in time. A dairy farmer and his daughters complete a drive from Ontario to BC to drum up support for Canadian milk, after a first attempt ended in tragedy.

Leon Lederman Obit
They don't call just anyone "Mister Particle Physics." That title was reserved for Leon Lederman — a Nobel Prize-winning physicist who worked with neutrinos and coined the term "The God Particle." A colleague explains what that all means — and what the late Dr. Lederman meant to him, and to those in his field.
