Pharmacists asking for government to pay for extra services

Radio-Canada.ca_pharmaciens_sn635.jpgGetting an extension on your prescription medicine usually means setting up an appointment with your doctor or waiting for hours in a medical clinic. But, as of September 3rd, Quebeckers will be able to do this at their local pharmacy.

And that's not all. Registered pharmacists will also be able to provide 6 other services. There's a hitch though. While these changes are only weeks away from being put in place, it's still unclear who will have to pay the bill.

We spoke to Jean Thiffault, president of the Association representing pharmacy owners in Quebec.
