Trois-Rivières History Tour wins Governor General's Award

histoires-de-quartier-213-3.jpgA historical walking tour that shines a light on people's lived histories, instead of on landmarks and statues. That's what Histoires de Quartiers in Trois-Rivières aims to accomplish, with the tours they have been offering for the past five summers. Tomorrow, they will be celebrated as this year's francophone laureate of the Governor General's Award for excellence in Community Programming.

Joel Ralph, a public historian with Canada's History, tells us why they chose the group as the winner. We also hear from Catherine Perron, one of the tour guides with Corporation Spect-Arts, about how they reacted to the exciting news.
