Ceremonial burial of the remains of over 1700 members of the Huron-Wendat nation

One thousand seven hundred and sixty Huron-Wendat ancestors were laid to rest this week-end in a burial ceremony held near Toronto, in the community of Vaughn. The remains had been stored in boxes, in the basement of the University of Toronto since the 1940's.

The Grand Chief of Wendake Konrad Sioui visited the University of Toronto when he was first elected chief and was in Vaughn for this burial ceremony over the weekend. He joined us on the line this morning from Wendake.
