UNIFOR seeks to represent freelancers

Over the Labour Day weekend, the biggest private-sector union in Canadian history was formed with the merging of the Canadian Auto Workers and the Communications, Energy and Paperworkers unions. UNIFOR now represents over 300,000 workers, and it also wants to reach out to people who are not traditionally represented in unions, like contract workers and freelancers.
