Wreck of the Empress of Ireland falling apart

empress_CANADIANPRESS.JPGThe wreck of the Empress of Ireland has been sitting at the bottom of the Saint-Lawrence River for the last 99 years, and has been attracting the interest of divers ever since.

But as site officials prepare to mark the 100th anniversary of the sinking in 2014, they're worried about the state of the wreck and the many artefacts that remain in the ship.

Anne-Marie Bourassa with the Site Historique maritime de la Pointe-au-Père tells us more.
