Steve Smith

Steve Smith is featured in the following program(s):
- The Red Green Show (Host)
Born in Toronto, Canada, Steve's quick wit and creative mind have always been a great source of entertainment to his family and friends. That he would make a good living using these natural talents combined with fierce determination and boundless energy is no surprise.
Steve had a comedy series on the air for over 20 years. His television career started with Smith & Smith, a sketch comedy series starring Steve and his partner and wife, Morag. Steve wrote and produced all 195 episodes. It was during this period that Steve's most popular alter ego "Red Green" was created. Smith & Smith won several awards including the Iris Award at NATPE '85 in San Francisco.
Expanding from Smith & Smith, Steve wrote and produced 26 episodes of Me & Max, followed by 60 episodes of The Comedy Mill, winning a Gemini Award for the latter. In his spare time he was Head Writer of a 13-episode series called Laughing Matters for the Global Television Network and wrote a pilot called Out Of Our Minds starring David Steinberg for Tribune Entertainment. As a slight departure, Steve wrote for three episodes of Top Cops for CBS International.
Steve starred in, produced and co-wrote with Rick Green, The Red Green Show. The show was seen on the CBC in Canada and 83 public television stations in the U.S. Macmillan published the second Red Green Book titled Red Green Talks Cars (A Love Story), written by Steve and Rick Green. Steve along with Pat McKenna won the 1998 Gemini Award for Best Performance in a Comedy Program or Series.
