- Tapestry (Host)
Mary Hynes is the host of Tapestry, CBC Radio's weekly investigation into what it means to be human. Tapestry goes deep into the messy, complicated, and sometimes absurd nature of our lives, through the lenses of psychology, philosophy, religion, and spirituality. There’s a lot going on with this programme, and Hynes loves it.
Before finding religion (the beat), Mary Hynes covered an eclectic range of stories in news and sports, in a career spanning newspapers, television, wires services and radio.
Hynes has reported from 23 countries, and covered three Olympic Games. She is the former host of CBC Radio’s The Inside Track, and TVO’s Imprint, and is a former co-host of Studio 2 at TVO. Hynes also spent several years as a sports reporter at The Globe and Mail, where her assignments included the 1988 Seoul Summer Olympics, and the subsequent Dubin Inquiry into drug use in sports.
Mary Hynes lives in Toronto with her family and her Fender basses.
