Margo McDiarmid is a national reporter in CBC's Ottawa Parliamentary Bureau. She covers politics for CBC News and also specializes in reporting on the environment.
McDiarmid started her career in radio 25 years ago, spending eight years in the Northwest Territories covering everything from aboriginal land claims to environmental issues.
She worked in London, England freelancing in both radio and television for CBC News and ABC News, and for seven years in Alberta as a videojournalist producing, writing and shooting television documentaries for CBC News The National.
McDiarmid has won a number of international and national awards for her stories on the environment. She was nominated for a Gemini Award for her 2008 documentary on falling water levels in Lake Superior.
McDiarmid has travelled extensively through Asia, Europe and the South Pacific. She is a graduate of Carleton University in Ottawa.
