Chris Hall

Chris Hall is the national affairs editor for CBC News, based in the Parliamentary Bureau in Ottawa.

Hal began his reporting career with the Ottawa Citizen, before moving to CBC Radio in 1992, where he worked as a national radio reporter in Toronto, Halifax and St. John's, before returning to Ottawa and the Hill in 1998.

Hall says he loves politics, and has enjoyed chasing prime ministers across the country and around the globe: from the Middle East to China, and Russia to Mexico. He's also done extended stints in the CBC's Washington Bureau.

Highlights of his time in Ottawa include: an in-depth series on the spiralling costs of Canada's controversial gun registry; stories detailing how Canada's poorest senior citizens were being deprived of access to income-support programs intended for them; and a series on Canada's dismal record in stopping the production and distribution of counterfeit products, which won the 2006 RTNDA Award for investigative and in-depth reporting.

Hall is a regular contributor to CBC.ca, CBC Newsworld and CBC Radio.

He is married, with two children, who, like him, never stop asking questions.
