Saskatchewan nurse continues to defend her right to criticize her grandfather's care
Carolyn Strom is going to Saskatchewan's highest court. In 2015, the registered nurse took to Facebook to publicly criticize the level of care that her grandfather received in a care home before he died. - Whether she had the right to make those kinds of comments is a question that pits "professional conduct" against "freedom of expression" And it's an issue that extends far beyond the nursing profession. Lawyers will make their arguments at the Court of Appeal in Regina this morning. CBC's Bonnie Allen has been following this story. She spoke with Saskatoon Morning's Jennifer Quesnel.
