Indigenous Languages in northern Ontario: we'll check in with Anishinaabemowin teacher Barbara Nolan to get her thoughts on immersion and how effective it is in learning a language
This week, we'll hear from Barbara Nolan, who lives in Garden River First Nation near Sault Ste. Marie. She's a life-long Anishinaabemowin, or Ojibwe language speaker. And she's been teaching the language since the early 1970s. She has a website - barbaranolan.com - where she focuses on immersion methods. Up North host Waub Rice called her up at home to ask her to share a bit of her life story in her language...And her perspective on the effectiveness of immersion.
