Bullying in Schools
Bullying used to be something that happened at school or on the school yard. Now it's moved into the digital world where the rules are a bit different. That means strategies to address it are also changing, or need to change. Researchers are also finding that some of the old ways to deal with bullying could actually make things worse. We spoke with Winston Blake, the executive director of the Restorative Action Program in Saskatoon and Summer Derksen, a former high school student in Saskatoon who experienced bullying. We were also joined by Debra Pepler, a professor at York University in Toronto who has has spent more than 30 years researching bullying, aggression and other forms of violence among young people.
