Saskatchewan mother lobbies for Saulteaux language instruction
Sending her child to school for the first time is not as joyful as one Saskatchewan mother hoped it would be. She cannot find any school offering Saulteaux language training. Bernadette Friedmann-Conrad is not Indigenous but her daughter is. They live in Moose Jaw. And Friedmann Conrad says her daughter has the right to receive an education that supports her language and identity. She spoke with Saskatoon Morning's Jennifer Quesnel.
