Cannabis infused beverages hit Canadian shelves in December

Daybreak Montreal

Imagine going to a party and instead of cracking open a beer, or pouring a glass of wine....opting for a cannabis drink. In December, 2019 this could be a reality. The SQDC confirmed to Daybreak that as of this December 16, 2019 they will be authorized to sell THC and CBD infused drinks. Quebec's proposed legislation around edibles says that drinks will be allowed but with a THC limit of 5 miligrams. They also cannot be mixed with other substances intended to disguise the smell, taste or colour of the cannabis extract. For more on where the industry is headed we talk to Adam Greenblatt. He is the business development lead for Canopy Growth - one of the largest cannabis producers in the country.
