A Calgary Man Who Struggled with Addiction Now Completes His First Half Ironman

The Homestretch

Calgary's Mike Chayka completed his first half ironman triathlon yesterday. That is two kilometres of swimming, 90 kilometres of cycling and 21 kilometres of running. It's a big achievement. Even more so, because he stopped using crystal meth just over five months ago he could barely swim and rarely rode a bike. Mike did it with the help of Vanisha Breault, the founder of Terminator Foundation an organization that uses triathlons to help people recovering from drug and alcohol addictions.
