The Role of 3rd Party Advertisers and Political Action Committee's (PAC's) in the Federal Election
There's something new coming to Canadian politics and this fall's election campaign. Third Party political advertising is promising to be a factor in this election like in no other Canadian vote, with names like Canada Proud and North99 these groups can spend as much money as they want without the restrictions placed on political parties. Very similar to political Action Committees in the U.S. many of these groups in Canada are already active. So get ready for more negative ads more attack ads and not much information on where they're coming from or who these groups are. We heard from Duane Bratt a political science professor at Mount Royal University, Greg Poelzer who teaches political science at the University of Saskatchewan, Jim Farney who teaches political science at the University of Regina and CBC's legislative reporter Adam Hunter.
