American pilot recounts rescue tale after crash in Quebec forest
On July 27th, American pilot Matt Lehtinen's plane crashed in the boreal forest near Port-Cartier, on the North Shore. He says the fact his plane had a parachute built in is one the reasons he survived. Soon after signalling his position via GPS and lighting a fire, he was rescued. He and one of the people who saved him, Master Corporal Nicolas Brouard, a Search and Rescue Technician, recounted the harrowing tale to Quebec AM's Marika Wheeler.
