The Indigenous history of PKOLS

On The Island

The live broadcast of CBC On The Island started in the parking lot at the bottom of Mount Douglas park in Saanich. Gregor Craigie and several guests and colleagues walked to the top during the first hour of the program. At the summit parking lot, they were joined by Eric Pelkey, a hereditary chief with the Tsawout First Nation, who recounted the historic significance of the mountain, which the Tsawout call PKOLS.
