University of Calgary's Solar Powered Win

The Homestretch

It's a car that runs on less power than a hair dryer fueled by the sun designed by University of Calgary engineering students and just won first place in its class at the Formula Sun Grand Prix race in Austin, Texas. That's the same track where the Formula One U.S. Grand Prix and IndyCar Classic are held. The team calls its solar car Schulich Elysia. Rob Dunn is a fourth year electrical engineering student and team captain.
