How salmon are key to locating endangered southern resident killer whales

It's whale watching season in British Columbia, but the endangered southern residents haven't been seen in their usual feeding grounds. With only 76 left in the wild, scientists on both sides of the border are worried they aren't finding enough to eat. So they're teaming up to tag chinook — the whales' main food source.
