Learning about the affects of colonization through family history
On National Indigenous peoples day in Canada many people celebrate indigenous culture. However, it's also a day to reflect on the ongoing issues of colonization and the real history of this place. Some of that has been reflected most recently in the report from the inquiry into missing and murdered indigenous women and girls. Our guests today look at that history by studying the history of their own family. We were joined in study by Indigenous social work professor Noela Crowe-Salazar and her 14-year-old daughter Alexa.
