Two months ago the Province cut $133 million from legal aid programs. Lawyer Michael Spratt has clients who now can't get legal aid, and he says that funding legal aid is crucial for the health of the justice system: it levels economic disparities; it streamlines the logistics and length of trials; and it prevents release of guilty parties as a result of undue delays.
