Membertou becomes first Mi'kmaw community in NS to take control of its own land

Membertou First Nation has voted to take stewardship over its own lands by adopting a new Land Code. This means decisions over use and control of its land will be made by Membertou alone, and not be subject to approval under the Indian Act. Trevor Bernard is Executive Director for Membertou, he explains what it means for the future.
