Saskatchewan parents of drug addicted children are mortgaging their homes to pay for treatment

Saskatoon Morning

Saskatchewan has a drug problem.. Crystal meth, fentanyl, cocaine, heroine -- it's disturbingly easy to find for those who want it. Unfortunately, it's not so easy to find long-term drug treatment. Parents of drug-addicted children in Saskatchewan say publicly-funded treatment options are limited. Especially if they want more than a 28-day program. Many say they feel they have no choice but to pay for long term treatment at a private facility.. An expensive gamble.. that can drain their retirement savings and sink parents deep into debt. CBC's Bonnie Allen has been looking into this. She spoke with Saskatoon Morning's Jennifer Quesnel
