Great trail trekker encounters extreme adventure and generosity in Saskatchewan

If Deanne Whelan succeeds, she will become not only the first woman to hike and paddle the world's longest trail. She'll be the first PERSON who ever does it. Whelan set out four years ago, to travel along the TransCanada or the "Great" Trail She's doing it almost entirely as a solo traveler. Over the past few weeks she's canoed through the Qu'Appelle Valley and from Outlook up along the South Saskatchewan river. Last week she landed in Saskatoon. She spoke with Saskatoon Morning's Jennifer Quesnel.
