Medically Assisted Death in Saskatchewan -- Conversations around the MAID program

Blue Sky

It's a topic that might be hard for a lot of people to talk about. It's controversial -- it's still relatively new -- but it's also very important to many. Today we talked about medically assisted death. It's been legal in Canada for nearly three years now -- however, an actual centralized program has only been around in Saskatchewan six months. We spoke with Michelle Fisher and Dr. Robert Weiler, both work with Saskatchewan's MAID (medical assistance in death) program. We were also joined by Shanaaz Gokool, the Executive Director of Dying with Dignity Canada and heard from several listeners about their own experience with the program.
