Kahnawake reflects on history of Indian Day Schools amidst class action hearings

Approval hearings are underway for the federal class action settlement on Indian Day Schools. 11 of those Indian Day Schools operated in Kahnawake from 1868 to 1988. We speak to Kenneth Deer, the founder of the Eastern Door newspaper and a former student, and Katsistohkwi:io Jacco, project leader for the office of the council of chiefs for the Mohawk council in Kahnawake.
