Siksika Nation long distance runner Rilee ManyBears

The Homestretch

When Rilee ManyBears won his first race, he was wearing jeans and skateboard shoes. That was back in grade five. These days the 23-year-old is winning races decked out in state-of-the-art running gear. He struck gold in the eight-kilometre race at the first World Indigenous Games in Brazil back in 2015. He took home the bronze in 2017 and now has his eye on qualifying for the 2020 Olympics. The long distance runner from Siksika Nation joined host Doug Dirks in studio.
