Five-year wait times for asylum claims is 'devastating': immigration lawyer

Canada's auditor general says that the federal government is struggling to process asylum claims, after a surge of irregular migrants crossed at Roxham Road in recent years. Over 71,000 refugee claims are in the queue, likely waiting for years for a decision. Guillaume Cliche-Rivard, lawyer and the president of the Quebec Immigration Lawyers Association, says the wait can be devastating for families.
