Putting a face to the stories of Quebec's fugitive slaves

Quebec AM

A new exhibit called Fugitives! is on now at the MNBAQ in Quebec City. Designed and orchestrated by Webster, a historian, rapper and advocate, Fugitives! uses illustration and rigorous historical documents to tell the stories of thirteen slaves who lived in Quebec in the 18th century. D. Mathieu Cassendo is one of the nine illustrators, and she told CBC's Julia Caron why it is so important to put a human face to those who were enslaved.
