Ontario Transport Minister on the billions for Toronto transit plan

Metro Morning

Premier Doug Ford, announced the province's plan to overhaul Toronto's transit system yesterday. The plan includes a new "Ontario" subway line. An expanded version of the city's relief line, that would stretch from Ontario Place to the Science Centre. The suite of transit upgrades and new projects carries a price tag of nearly 30 billion dollars... And will rely on money from the city and the federal government - neither of which were represented at the announcement. Minister of Transportation Jeff Yurek was on stage with the Premier yesterday and he speaks with us this morning.
