Ottawa's New English Poet Laureate

The City of Ottawa has two brand new poet laureates. Deanna Young and Margaret Michèle Cook were inaugurated at City Hall recently during the opening celebration of the VERSEfest poetry festival. They'll serve for the next two years as Ottawa's Anglophone and Francophone laureates. Their task is to serve as "cultural ambassadors to promote the literary arts and advance Ottawa's unique voice in the world."
