Understanding Treaty Making

Blue Sky

The treaties were negotiated between 1869 and 1877 -- and even though they've been around for a very long time, our understanding of them continues to change as more perspectives are being included in the conversation. Today we are asking -- how does having a better understanding of the treaties help Indigenous/non-indigenous relations in Canada? We were joined by Aaron Tootoosis, a Plains Cree Treaty Educator and Sheldon Krasowski, who grew up in Saskatoon and is the the author of a new book by University of Regina Press titled No Surrender: The Land Remains Indigenous.
