Haitian Montrealers call on authorities to stop upcoming concert by former Haitian president Michel Martelly

Haitian Montrealers are appealing to authorities to halt an upcoming concert by former Haitian president Michel Martelly. He goes by "Sweet Micky" and is set to perform Friday at Plaza Centre-Ville. But women's groups sent a letter this week asking Montreal Mayor Valerie Plante to use "all her political power" to block the performance. The letter calls Sweet Micky a notorious misogynist who is an apologist for rape. It's been signed by seven groups -- including la Maison d'Haiti. We speak with Marjorie Villefranche, the director general of Maison d'Haiti; and Nick Janvier, one of the promoters behind the concert.
