Alberta biologist says wolf and moose populations need to come down to help caribou herds recover

The Homestretch

Caribou in Alberta and B.C. are an endangered species with a long and steady decline in their numbers. Now a 12-year study from the University of Alberta is showing how to stop the decline and help caribou herds recover. But their solution won't be popular with everyone. It suggests killing more wolves and moose to help the caribou thrive. Robert Serrouya is a biologist at U of A and the lead author of the study. He spoke with host Doug Dirks.
