2019 Brier Champion Ben Hebert

The Homestretch

It was a perfect week for Team Alberta at the Brier. Calgary skip Kevin Koe and his rink went undefeated right through to yesterday's final, where they met Edmonton's Wild Card Team, led by Brendan Bottcher. It was a tight game right through to the tenth end. Bottcher was leading three-two, but Koe had the hammer. And it all came down to that final stone. Team Alberta won the Brier with a final score of four-to-three. It's the fourth tankard for Kevin Koe. It's also the fourth Brier title for lead player, Ben Hebert. Ben lives in Chestermere. He won the World Men's Championship in 2008, curling with Kevin Martin and went on to win Olympic Gold in Vancouver in 2010. He joined host Doug Dirks on the line.
