What does it mean to be an adoptee in 2019? A new exhibition takes a closer look.

Daybreak Montreal

A new photo exhibition called La Couleur de L'Adoption is on display today at le Complexe Desjardins. It looks at what it means to be adopted, and specifically, what it means to be adopted from abroad. It's based on a book of the same name, which portrays the stories of Quebecers who have been adopted internationally. We speak with Manuelle Alix-Suprenant, one of the people behind the book and an adoptee herself from South Korea. We also speak with Marie-Jean Cournoyer, who is featured in the book, and was adopted from Colombia and she is herself in the process of adopting from Colombia. Marie-Jean is also one of the 38 international adoptees showcased in the book.
