Author Joy Kogawa on her new app, East of the Rockies

The Homestretch

During World War II, thousands of Canadians of Japanese heritage were removed from their homes and sent to internment camps across Canada, including Alberta. Joy Kogawa was one of them. The Japanese-Canadian author of the award-winning novel "Obasan" has shared this part of Canadian history through novels, poetry, children's books. Now, she's telling the story through a new interactive app. It's called "East of the Rockies." She joined host Doug Dirks on the line.
