Analysis from Duane Bratt as the SNC-Lavalin saga continues

The Homestretch

The political drama surrounding the SNC-Lavalin affair took another turn today. Prime Minister Justin Trudeau's former principle secretary, Gerald Butts, testified before the House Justice Committee. Former Attorney General Jody Wilson-Raybould told the committee last week that Butts was one of 11 people who approached her about the legal case involving the Quebec engineering firm. Today Butts didn't deny there were discussions, but he insisted proper procedures were followed and there was no intention to pressure Wilson-Raybould. For more on today's testimony and what happens next, host Doug Dirks reached Duane Bratt. He is a political scientist at Mount Royal University in Calgary.
