The Lessons For Amma's Daughters

Daybreak Alberta

In January, books reviewer, Angie Abdou told us about a book called "Amma's Daughters," written by Meenal Shrivastava, a professor at Athabasca University. Her book is a memoir about her mother and grandmother, and moreover, it also traces an untold part of history. "Amma's Daughters" reveals the story of the role women played during the Indian Revolution of the 1930s and 40s, leading to independance. The book is available from UBC Press, and Russell Bowers sat down for a chat with Meenal Shrivastava.
