Jesse Lipscombe and his talk "Dream, Identity and Diversity"

The Homestretch

For many black Albertans, their family history and connection to black culture lies far beyond the borders of our province...originating in places like Barbados, Jamaica, Nigeria, the United States or even Australia. But for Jesse Lipscombe, those roots are missing. The fourth-generation-black Albertan is sharing his story this Saturday as part of the the Caribbean Associations of Calgary's Black History Month celebrations. His talk is called "Dream, Identity and Diversity." He is a producer, actor and activist and cofounder of the "Hashtag Make It Awkward" campaign.
