Dave Cooke on new EQAO chair

Afternoon Drive

The Ford government appointed the new chair of the Education Quality and Accountability Office recently. Known by most as EQAO, it's the agency responsible for the standardized testing in our schools. The new chair, Cameron Montgomery, is a former university professor and unsuccessful PC candidate - and he'll be paid $140,000 a year. That salary has raised the eyebrows of former Windsor NDP MPP Dave Cook. He was chair of EQAO for the last three years, and made significantly less than $140,000.
