ARKELLS surprise Calgary students and prepare for their Saddledome show

The Homestretch

Kids at the Calgary Arts Academy got a HUGE SURPRISE this afternoon. Juno Award-winning band, ARKELLS, showed up at the school for an impromptu performance! The band was in town for their Rally Cry tour, hitting the Saddledome on Saturday. But they're also here to celebrate the winner of the 2018 MusiCounts passion prize, part of the CBC Canadian music class challenge. Calgary Arts Academy killed it with their rendition of "People's Champ" and earlier today the band, from Hamilton, Ontario, took time out of their busy schedule to present the students with their award. Max Kerman is the lead singer of ARKELLS. Nick Dika is the bass player. They joined host Doug Dirks in studio.
