Mayor Sue Montgomery on who provides services for Glenmount

Daybreak Montreal

Here's a great question for your next Montreal pub quiz - where is Glenmount? Officially, Glenmount is an enclave - a part of Côte-des-Neiges-Notre-Dame-de-Grâce borough. But it's cut off from the rest of the borough by Jean-Talon boulevard and the train tracks. For years, residents of the area have used services in Town of Mont-Royal, with Côte-des-Neiges-Notre-Dame-de-Grâce paying the town for the difference, until the borough said last year that they were scrapping that deal because it was just too expensive. This Monday, the Côte-des-Neiges-Notre-Dame-de-Grâce council decided to take on a new deal, which will allow Glenmount residents to continue using the services of the Town of Mount Royal - paid for with an increase on their property taxes. We speak with the president of the Glenmount Community Association, Christopher Deehy; and Sue Montgomery, the Mayor of Côte-des-Neiges-Notre-Dame-de-Grâce.
